About the Ithaca PTSO

        The Ithaca PTSO is a volunteer group that works toward the improvement of the school. We discuss ideas, problems, fundraisers, activities, and events at our school. Some of the fun activities the PTSO provides at little or no cost include:

  • Ithaca Fair - October 12, 2024

    • Bounce House in Multi-Purpose room (Free)

    • Face Painting in Multi-Purpose room (Free) (Thank you Mrs. Seehawer!)

    • Cotton Candy ($1)

    • Slushies ($1)

  • Trunk or Treat – October 28, 2024 4:30-6 PM

  • Gingerbread House Fun Night – December 6, 2024 6 - 7:30 PM

  • Symon’s Free Swim Day - February 16, March 16, April 20

  • Bingo Night – March 14, 2025 6-8 PM

Additionally...

Each year we:

  • Provide welcome baskets for new teachers and staff

  • Supply popcorn for the school Friday popcorn sales

  • Provide a meal to teachers during parent/teacher conferences

  • Sponsor the High School Semester Star recognition program

  • Award a scholarship to graduating seniors

  • Publish the all color Elementary and Middle School yearbook

  • Offer a “Welcome to Ithaca” treat bag during 3K and 4K screening

  • Provide a toner/cell phone/battery/ old markers recycle area

  • Present retiring staff with a token of appreciation

  • Fund the breakfast and raffle prizes for Teacher/ Staff Appreciation Week in May

  • Assist with field trip funding

  • Pay for part of the Phy Ed roller skating unit

  • Provide free feminine hygiene products in the women's bathrooms

  • Fund books/meal for the Family Fun Reading Nights

  • Provide teachers with items cut from their budgets on a case-by-case approval through a funds request form

  • Allow the volleyball/basketball concessions groups to use the popcorn popper purchased with PTSO funds

Fundraising

Our PTSO fundraisers include:

  • The Ithaca apparel and spirit items sales at Picture night, Homecoming, and before Christmas

  • The Rural Route 1 Popcorn sale in September/October

  • Boxtops for Education receipt scan program

 

All monies taken in from our fundraisers go back into projects and activities for our school.

In 2022 we purchased a 55" TV for digital signage in the Commons area.

 

We are always looking for volunteers to help with all of our activities.  You do not have to come to a meeting to help out!  Simply volunteer by contacting an officer or via the Ithaca PTSO Facebook page or by email by clicking on "Let's Chat!". For every hour volunteered, your name goes into a drawing for a family season pass to the Richland Aquatic Center!  Congratulations to our 2023-24 winner Jill Kinyon!
